The company received items for the event at their Maplewood storage facility, and a day prior to the event, on June 8, Harrington Movers transported the goods to Verona Park. In addition to participating in the Valerie Fund Walk, Harrington Moving recently participated in the 11th Annual MayFest Event, a street festival that attracts a large audience of locals and visitors. During the event, which took place on May 20, Harrington Movers maintained a booth, handed out free balloons and displayed one of their colossal moving trucks.

“Harrington Moving & Storage was a tremendous help,” said a MayFest event organizer. “They really helped us attract quite an audience.”

Harrington Moving & Storage participates in community run events, as well as launches its own programs to raise awareness. The company recently announced a food drive that will last throughout the summer months.

To combat the hunger issues facing local New Jersey residents, Harrington Mover will collect non perishable canned foods from customers, at no charge, and deliver them to the local New Jersey food bank.

“Harrington Moving will help over 900,000 low-income people in 18 of New Jersey’s 21 counties,” said a Community FoodBank of New Jersey employee.

Looking to reduce its carbon footprint, Harrington Movers began using a new method of packing, called the Green Packer. The Green Packer reduces the need for cardboard boxes, as well as reduces the need for tape, protective paper, and other items commonly used with packing.

The company recently began using special crates that speed the process of packing because they do not require tape, protective paper and other items commonly used with packing.

Furthermore, the company’s movers meet ever-evolving business priorities – such as security considerations, data protection, uninterrupted IT infrastructure and minimum downtime. Office moves are completed during non-working hours and on weekends to ensure the business will be up and running the following day.

In a recent example, Harrington Moving & Storage displayed its improved office moving service to a Maplewood law firm who called on Harrington to move the small office across town. The relocation project consisted of collecting all the law firm’s documents, furniture and scattered belongings. Since the law firm requested the cumbersome relocation project take place after the firm’s working hours, Harrington Moving arrived on the scene Friday night and completed the move by Saturday morning.

Save the date, July 12 Harrington Movers join Ken Daneyko, Gerry Cooney, Grant Marshall and other celebrities out on the green rolling plains at the Suburban Golf Club in this year’s Ken Daneyko Golf Classic.

The Annual Ken Daneyko Golf Classic is a major fundraiser to benefit the women and children at the Center for Great Expectations. The Center for Great Expectations was founded as a nonprofit in 1998 to empower homeless, pregnant teens and women. It is the only licensed agency in New Jersey to provide housing and treatment for both adolescents and adult women who are pregnant and addicted to drugs and alcohol, and who want to carry their babies to term.

Ken Daneyko is a retired New Jersey Devils hockey player, who for the past 15 years has been involved in supporting the mission of the Center for Great Expectations. He started hosting the annual golf event to raise money for and awareness of the Center’s mission.

In his letter inviting others to participate in the fundraising event, Daneyko writes “It’s not your typical program, the place is different – not institutional, but homelike, giving young mothers a chance to build up their self-esteem in a safe space.” He continues to write “this (the fundraiser) is an opportunity to affect change in the lives of those less fortunate.”

The golf tournament includes brunch, golf practice, cocktail hour, dinner and awards. Furthermore, the tournament features several contests including a putting contest, hole-in-one, pot o’gold, and longest drive contests. Event organizers also added that the event will feature a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction.

“It sounds like a great, important event that can really help improve these women’s lives,” said owner of Harrington Moving, Jeff Harrington. “I hope many people will come and donate whatever they can.”

Harrington Moving recently participated in the 11th Annual Maplewood MayFest on Springfield Avenue Event, a festival held every year on Springfield Avenue to bring visitors to the district so they become familiar with the area’s wide range of activities.

It was the first MayFest event Harrington Moving sponsored. Throughout the event Harrington Movers maintained a booth, handed out free balloons, displayed one of their colossal moving trucks, and created a ride out of a 15-foot strip of bubble wrap.

“Harrington Movers were pretty creative, they turned their company truck into an amusement ride,” said event organizers.

Harrington Moving placed the bubble wrap across the floor of the moving truck; when the first bubble was popped, children came running to take their turn. Soon enough there was a line of excited children stretching far down Springfield Avenue.

Harrington Mover was one out of many local businesses who offered to sponsor the event and participate in the street festival. Festival organizers estimated the fair attracted between 4,000-to-5,000 visitors.

The 11th Annual MayFest event included a petting zoo with four ponies to ride, a kiddie train, inflatable rides, a balloon animal maker and plenty of other enjoyable activities for children. Furthermore, the event displayed more than 100 vendors, artists, crafters and civic associations.

“We will definitely return to the fair next year, the MayFest event is considered Maplewood’s most anticipated community events,” Harrington said. “We always strive to reach out and participate in the community.”

The items included 3,000 bottled waters, 80 cases of T-shirts and over 3,000 bags of Herr’s Chips.

A day prior to the event, on June 8, Harrington Movers transported the goods to Verona Park. When the walk ended, Harrington Moving was on-site to load event items onto the company moving truck and deliver them to their final destination.

“Harrington Movers greatly contributed to the event’s success,” said Valerie Fund Walk organizer. “The company donated a lot of manpower and effort, we really thank them.”

The Valerie Fund Walk raised slightly over $1,000,000, and comprised of about 3,252 participants. The event consisted of a 5-Kilometer walk and prior to the event’s kickoff, JAG Physical Therapy, in partnership with the Valerie Fund, sponsored a 5-Kilometer run.

The festival, hosted by Springfield Avenue Partnership, is held every year on Springfield Avenue to bring visitors to the district so they become familiar with the area’s wide range of activities.

“The 11th annual street festival serves to better inform locals and visitors of the district’s shopping, dining and service opportunities,” event organizers said. “The event also gives our district businesses an opportunity to introduce themselves to the public.”
